Cheaper Electricity Is Coming: New Rate of 3.94 Baht/Unit Announced

Great news for consumers! Electricity prices are being reduced for the final four months of 2025, with a new rate of 3.94 baht per unit taking effect from September to December.

This positive change follows a drop in global energy costs and direct discussions between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Pirapan Salirathavipak, and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).

On July 31, 2025, Mr. Pirapan announced the new rate on his personal Facebook page, confirming that the government is taking steps to ease the financial burden on the public. This decision comes after EGAT reviewed the downward trend in gas prices and concluded that a lower price was possible. EGAT has since informed the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) of the new rate.

This reduction is a welcome development and a clear sign of the government's commitment to providing relief to consumers.
