The Royal Thai Army, with the full support of the Ministry of Culture and local government agencies, recently held solemn royal cremation ceremonies for four courageous soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice defending Thailand's sovereignty. These heroes, who fell in the line of duty along the Thai-Cambodian border, were honored with not only a dignified farewell but also posthumous promotions and comprehensive financial support for their families.

General Pana Klaewplodthuk, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, dispatched senior commanders to preside over these poignant ceremonies, underscoring the Army's deep respect and gratitude for their fallen comrades.

A Nation Remembers: The Sacrifices and Honors
On July 30, 2025, the ceremonies unfolded across various provinces, bringing together military personnel, government officials, and grieving families to pay their last respects.

Sergeant Major Jirayu Singhon, a Reconnaissance Officer with the 6th Long Range Reconnaissance Company, 6th Infantry Division, tragically lost his life on July 25, 2025, in the Prasat Ta Kwai area of Surin Province. His royal cremation ceremony was held at Wat Talat Ratchamongkol in Roi Et Province, with General Nattawut Nakanakorn, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, presiding. For his bravery, Sergeant Major Singhon received a special 7-level promotion, a royal promotion to the rank of Second Lieutenant, along with royal grants, war compensation, Army life insurance, financial assistance, and a bequest totaling 2,204,903 baht for his heirs.

Police Senior Sergeant Major Woranchit Yuangsuwan, a switch-line soldier from the Headquarters, Heavy Grenade Launcher Company, 13th Infantry Regiment, 6th Infantry Division, died on July 24, 2025, while on duty in the border area of Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province. His ceremony took place at Wat Sawang Arom in Nakhon Phanom Province, presided over by General Thongchai Rodyoy, Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Army. He was posthumously granted nine levels of special merit, promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant, and his family received royal funds, war compensation, Army life insurance, financial assistance, and an inheritance totaling 1,140,341 baht.

Sergeant Major Nopphon Bunlert, another brave Reconnaissance Officer from the 6th Long Range Reconnaissance Company, 6th Infantry Division, also fell on July 25, 2025, in the Prasat Ta Kwai area of Surin Province. General Chitsanupong Rodsiri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, presided over his royal cremation ceremony at Wat Su San Trailak in Ubon Ratchathani Province. Sergeant Major Bunlert was honored with seven levels of special merit, a promotion to the rank of Second Lieutenant, and his heirs were granted royal funds, war compensation, Army life insurance, financial assistance, and a bequest totaling 2,128,842 baht.

Sergeant Major Kritsada Noikhot, a radio operator from the 6th Long Range Reconnaissance Company, 6th Infantry Division, died on July 25, 2025, in the Prasat Ta Kwai area of Surin Province. His royal cremation ceremony was held at Wat Khositaram in Amnat Charoen Province, with Lt. Gen. Thawatchai Tangpitakkul, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Army (1), presiding. Sergeant Major Noikhot was posthumously granted seven levels of special merit, a royal promotion to the rank of Second Lieutenant, and his family received royal funds, war compensation, Army life insurance, financial assistance, and a bequest totaling 2,061,513 baht.
