Role & Responsibilities:
As a critical member of our finance/accounting division, the Finance Manager will report directly to the Asia Finance Controller (Singapore) and have a dotted line reporting relationship to the Country General Manager (Thailand). This role is pivotal in supporting strategic decision-making by providing insightful reports, robust controls, comprehensive analysis, and actionable recommendations. Key responsibilities include:
Financial Control and Compliance:
- Oversee and maintain strong financial controls across cash management, payments, payroll, and invoicing.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory and tax requirements, including VAT and Corporation tax.
- Supervise, monitor, and review project financial records, adhering to both national laws and corporate policies.
- Develop, document, and enforce business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
- Collaborate with external and internal auditors, tax consultants, lawyers, notaries, and banks.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Lead and oversee general accounting processes, financial statement reconciliation, and tax functions to ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Manage billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Oversee project accounting.
- Conduct monthly P&L, NWC, and cash flow forecasting.
- Plan, manage, and deliver rolling monthly forecasts and annual budgeting processes.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Play a key role in managing collections and sales revenue recognition with the team.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and inspire a team of 2 accountants, fostering a high-performance culture through coaching, performance feedback, and skill development.
- Drive efficiency and effectiveness by improving team competencies, capabilities, and work quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited institution.
- CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in a finance leadership role, preferably in a multinational company.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial data clearly and concisely.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Audit background is advantageous.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, pay close attention to detail, and manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and resilience under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, budgeting, and forecasting skills to interpret and analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new concepts and participate in innovative projects.
